VE.Bus BMS NG - Battery management system for Lithium NG batteries

VE.Bus BMS NG is a battery management system for Victron Lithium NG batteries, designed for systems with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers using VE.Bus communication. It protects the cells against over-voltage, under-voltage and temperature extremes and provides central monitoring via Bluetooth in VictronConnect, without the need for a separate SmartShunt.

The VE.Bus BMS NG is an all-in-one Battery Management System (BMS) for Victron Lithium NG batteries (not compatible with Lithium Battery Smart batteries), designed for systems with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers using VE.Bus communication. It monitors and protects the batteries against over voltage and under voltage of any individual cell, and also over temperature or under temperature conditions.

With built-in Bluetooth, the BMS provides central monitoring via VictronConnect. The BMS derives all key parameters including voltage, current, state of charge and individual cell data directly from the battery, removing the need for a separate SmartShunt.

The lithium NG batteries can be configured in series, parallel, or a combination of both, supporting 12V, 24V, and 48V systems. A maximum of 50 batteries can be used in 12V or 24V banks, and 25 batteries in 48V banks, enabling up to 192 kWh (12V), 384 kWh (24V), and 128 kWh (48V) of storage. Multiple Lynx Smart BMS units can be paralleled to expand capacity and ensure redundancy.

Key Features:

• Bluetooth Smart: The VE.Bus BMS NG includes Bluetooth Smart for wireless configuration, monitoring, and firmware updates via the VictronConnect App. Instant Readout shows key data such as SoC, battery temperature, warnings, and alarms directly in the device list, without needing to connect.
• Load disconnect output: Controls the remote on/off input of a BatteryProtect, inverter, DC-DC converter, or other loads with remote on/off functionality to prevent deep discharge.
• Charge disconnect output: Controls the remote on/off port of chargers such as the Smart IP43 Charger, a Cyrix-Li-Charge relay, a Cyrix-Li-ct Battery Combiner, or a BatteryProtect, to prevent overvoltage.
• Pre-alarm output: Provides early warning for low battery voltage before disconnecting loads. Can drive a relay, LED, or buzzer.
• Remote on/off control: Allows external control of both load and charge disconnect outputs.
• LED indicators: Includes a blue LED for Bluetooth status and a red LED for warnings and errors.
