LiFePO4 batteries are the safest lithium-ion batteries on the market. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V, as opposed to 2V for lead acid batteries, so a 12.8V battery contains 4 cells connected in series and a 25.6V battery contains 8 cells connected in series.

A LiFePO4 battery does not need to be fully charged. The life of such a battery should be improved on a partial charge rather than a full charge, which is the big advantage over acid batteries.

Other advantages are the wide temperature ranges in which it can work, the excellent performance in the number of cycles, the low internal resistance and the high efficiency, which is 92%.

Cell voltages, temperature and error status can be monitored via Bluetooth, which is very useful for locating a potential problem such as cell imbalance.
