LiFePO4 batteries are the safest lithium ion batteries on the market. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V, unlike 2V for acid batteries, so a 12.8V battery contains 4 cells connected in series, and a 25.6V battery contains 8 cells connected in series.
