BTS 5K-BDU is the battery distribution unit for the BTS 5K modules of SOFAR systems. It works at 350-435 V d.c., has a maximum current of 30 A and manages 1-4 BTS 5K modules (5.12-20.48 kWh). It has IP65 protection, an LED display and CAN communication. The dimensions are 708 x 200 x 170 mm and the weight is 7 kg.
BTS 5K-BDU is the smart battery distribution unit (BDU) of the SOFAR BTS systems: it groups 1-4 BTS 5K modules, provides a 350-435 V d.c. high-voltage output with a 30 A maximum current and communicates over CAN.
The BDU is installed in the module stack; its BAT output connects to the battery port of the inverter and its COM-OUT output to the CAN port of the inverter. The communication cables between the modules and the BDU are in the module packaging, and those between BDU units are in the BDU packaging.
A system can have up to two BDU units in the same communication network, each with an independent output, which extends the capacity to two groups of modules. The unit has a 2-layer safety system, a d.c. switch and fuses, protective class I, and is suitable for outdoor installation.
