SmartSolar MPPT 150/85-Tr VE.Can is a solar charge controller with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for 12/24/48 V batteries, with a charge current of 85 A and a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 150 V. The built-in Bluetooth, the VE.Direct port and VE.Can allow configuration via VictronConnect and connection to a GX device.
MPPT technology constantly monitors the voltage and current of the solar (PV) panels and tracks the maximum power point; the benefit is most visible when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity changes continuously. The controller can also recharge a deeply discharged battery that is not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged, and can operate from a battery voltage of 0 V.
With built-in Bluetooth, the controller can be configured and monitored remotely with a smartphone or another device via VictronConnect. If the installation is connected to the internet through a GX device, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal provides access to all data; for locations without an internet connection, the GlobalLink 520 device can be used. VictronConnect and VRM are free of charge. The controller has CAN bus ports for communication with other SmartSolar VE.Can chargers: the units are daisy-chained with a single RJ45 cable, synchronise their charging stages and can send their data, over a single cable, to a GX monitoring device.
