SmartSolar MPPT 250/60-MC4 - MPPT solar charge controller for 12/24/48 V batteries

SmartSolar MPPT 250/60-MC4 is a solar charge controller with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) for 12/24/48 V batteries, with a charge current of 60 A and a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 250 V. The built-in Bluetooth and the VE.Direct port allow configuration and monitoring with VictronConnect.

MPPT technology constantly monitors the voltage and current of the solar (PV) panels and tracks the maximum power point; the benefit is most visible when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity changes continuously. The controller can also recharge a deeply discharged battery that is not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged, and can operate from a battery voltage of 0 V.

With built-in Bluetooth, the controller can be configured and monitored remotely with a smartphone or another device via VictronConnect. If the installation is connected to the internet through a GX device, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal provides access to all data; for locations without an internet connection, the GlobalLink 520 device can be used. VictronConnect and VRM are free of charge.

Extended electronic protection: over-temperature protection with power reduction when the temperature is high, protection against PV short circuit and PV reverse polarity, as well as protection against PV reverse current. The optional SmartSolar Control Display connects to the front of the controller and allows checking the status of the charger and the battery, with real-time monitoring and configuration. The PV connection is made via MC4 connectors (two pairs), with a maximum PV current of 30 A per connector. Selecting a battery voltage of 36 V requires a software tool.
